natural watercolor palette
12 half pans of individually crafted, natural-pigment watercolor paints.
Each pigment made from a natural dye takes 1–2 weeks to create. I start with the leftover dye-bath liquid and transform this into a lake pigment. Then, I grind the dried pigment and hand-mull it with a watercolor binder made from gum arabic, honey, glycerin, and distilled water. After pouring, the paint cures in its pan for up to 48 hours. The same hand-mulling process is used for colors derived from earth pigments.
Top Row: Zinnia, Goldenrod, Marigold, Sulphur Cosmos
Middle Row: Red Earth Pigment, Cochineal, Logwood, Indigo
Bottom Row: Cyprus Earth Pigment, Dahlia, Sumac, Rudbeckia
